![]() ![]() Right click on the “Live.app” file and choose “Show Package Contents”. The target folder is located inside the Ableton Live application bundle. In order to use the MASCHINE Controller for controlling Ableton Live, you need to copy a folder from the Template Support Files folder inside the "CONTROLLER EDITOR" application folder into the application folder of Ableton Live. Below is the directions I followed from the NI knowledge base. Been up and down the reference manual and you tube trying to figure this one out. Again the ableton template is engaged in my machine controller and also recognized in ableton but does not communicate midi. If you would like i can uplaod the file i am working on so you can see how it has been configured thus far.if how i have explained doesnt make full sense.I followed these instructions, along with several phone calls with tech support Native Instruments regarding why my Maschine controller is enabled in the controll surface preference menu(i.e inputs, outputs, tracks and remotes are all enabled.) Tech support couldn't troubleshoot the problem and told me to refer to the NI and Ableton forums for an answer. What do you guys think ? whats my easiest way out of the gate at the moment ? I am fine to use one or the other as well.but project flow wise it makes more sense to use both at the same time, to edit / change vales quickly on the fly.If i can figure out how to use the program change's without needing the MIDI out channel however, this all becomes redundand information as i can easily switch between midi / maschine control mode. it would be nice to have these setup to change based on note values rather than CC values, as i could physically note plot program e a midi keyboard to change program values while keeping the controller sync'd to the maschine vsti. can i edit the names of those patches anywhere ? I never use the default values anywhere, so to be able to configure those would at least ease the strain of configuration. i can edit the events of a pattern, however the patch names come up as "acoustic grand piano, etc, etc." so trying to understand what i am setting up scene wise. however there are some drawbacks.ġ, Its difficult to edit / finetune post recording. If i load up a midi out, and sync up the midi out to the midi in of maschines vsti, i can use control changes and link the patch parameter to that, which DOES do the job. I have on the other hand figured out this much. Up to that point, everything is great.and appears to be configured correctly, the Maschine Controller readout displays midi and program Change values, however, FL doesnt appear to be responding to program change values from the Controller, or I just havent figured out a way to establish a proper link yet.the correct way at least. Here is a link to the document describing how to send program changes via midi to MaschineĮssentially, you are supposed to load up Maschne in your host, and fire up the Controller Editor, load the program changes template up.Įnable the MIDI in for Maschine on your Host, and then switch the controller into MIDI mode using Shift + Control. Hey Guys, got one of these a little while ago and im trying to figure out how to send program changes to the vsti using its controller editor template.
